Oh, so it's simple political correctness when you take umbrage to negative stereotyping about where you grew up, a place where you still have many ties, both emotional and familial? Funny, I thought it was self-defense. Or not allowing yourself to be insulted without a fight.

I've found that many people trot out the "political correctness" label when they want to be just rude.

Feel free to make all the fat and drunk or politically corrupt and mob run jokes about Chicago, you want. I love em!

But really, the joke doesn't work without the negative stereotyping. Sometimes you have to go along with a negative stereotype to make a joke work. LIke when someone uses me as an example in a cheap or rich Jew joke. I'm clearly not good with money and will spend any I have on anyone. But to make the joke work, I go along.

Humor is bigger than all of us.
