James has announced as part of his summer goals to read 15 Discworld novels. In addition to The Color of Magic, which he's reading now, I have suggested he read Mort, Thief of Time, and Night Watch. What would you guys suggest?

I have also suggested that he needs to read Good Omens.

I started with Men at Arms and enjoyed that one. That said I'm woefully short on Discworld.

I'd suggest the Guard books in order, to watch the characters develop: Guards! Guards! then Men At Arms, Feet of Clay, Fifth Element and Jingo are good but optional, then Night Watch. Small Gods might be good, too, as a side book.

Pyramids and Sourcery. Both are must-reads for that universe.

Oh, and Reaper Man.

He could also try The Science of Discworld...

I have a particular attachement to "Guards! Guards!" because it reminds me of the folks I started working Renassaince Faires with.
