I want a "do-over" watch....

I'll set it for last week, or maybe last year, or what the hell, why not 1985?

Eh, not really. But I'll live.

I'm sorry you're not feeling like life is working for you right now. *hugs*

That said, the reason for not going back to 1985 is that I have no intention of living through all of THAT again. Good gravy. Being chronically unemployed, then meeting my future husband when I was still committed to someone else, being in a messy triad, wishing I could die, 8 years of therapy, Akien's crank addiction and cold-turkey, his affair, the court battle for custody of V, the battles WITH V, childbirth, a couple of really bad bosses, several times of Akien being fired or laid off, the dot.bomb, my dad's illnesses....

Nope. No one could PAY me enough to do all that over again! You wanna, you're gonna have to find a little time bubble all for yourself! :^)

Yeah. I know. There were a lot of bad things in there for me, as well. I just picked '85 out of the hat because, I don't know... maybe it seemed the last time I felt in control of my life (I know that control is an illusion, but it's a nice illusion.) It was when I was deciding what to do with my life. I just feel old, I guess. And yes, I know I have choices, but the choices I would like to make have simply far too many negative consequences associated with them now.

Forget the time machine... maybe what I really need is a ticket to Maui.....

Note to self: Pat's birthday is coming up... (Well, coming up in the sense of "sometime in the next year", at least. ;))

Actually, my birthday is, if memory serves, four days before yours.

I had just noticed that, by remembering "oh yeah, there's a page that lists all the birthdays on it, I should check that out". ;) Go me.

Maui--Now THERE'S a thought! How about girls only? No kids, no parents, no hubbies....

THAT'S an idea I could get behind! *grin*

OK, back to the real world.

'85? -shudder- Oh, no. '85 to '88 were bad, bad, bad years.

Hi <ljuser="trinker">! Welcome to my journal!

I sort of picked '85 out of a hat because of my personal history, but it was a bad time for the country. Maybe '92or '93 would work : >
