Mark June 7th.....

..on your calendars as "the day Pat gets her life back."

Between skating lessons (which run to the second week of April), baseball practices, and baseball games, I have exactly nine afternoons free between now and May 17. On several days, I am required to be in more than one place at the same time. For part of that time Brian will be on travel -- unknown how much, but he is going to Japan in May. Then there are "playoffs" -- I don't have the schedule for those yet. Closing ceremonies are June 7th.

I think I need a drink.

Reminder: I volunteered for this. I volunteered for this. I volunteered for this.

Perhaps you should try cloning?

Or time travel.

Any other solutions might be too unrealistic.

I like the time travel idea. As for cloning, I don't think the world is ready for two of me.: >

Yikes. Just, yikes. *hug*

Thanks. I am likely to be really crabby for the next couple of months as a result (apologizing in advance:> )

I TOTALLY understand. I am in a similar boat and am already running 2 weeks behind. I'll join you for that drink. (hug)

What we should do is get you, me, Jen (she can be our designated driver hee hee), a couple of the other moms on my team (there is this Englishwoman who is an absolute hoot) and go out carousing some night. :>

Sounds great to me! I occasionally like to go to Banderas (in downtown Los Altos) and drink their Cosmopolitans... and Lemon Drops... and Chocolate Martinis. YUM! One of these days I'd like to go there and eat dinner w/out sitting at the bar for an hour waiting... to determine the true quality of the food. Every time I've gone, we've spent the entire waiting period DRINKING... and the food always tastes great. Not sure if it's the booze. Anyway, we could go there.. :) I'm game for some fun.

I'm about to work on the Little League booster book. It is due this weekend & I haven't even started it. grmph.

Hope you are doing well... looking forward to seeing you one of these days. (hug)

Hee hee. I know I'll make it through... I did last year. It's just when I look at my schedule, I feel like going to bed and pulling the covers over my head.

See my journal for a comparison from a different culture.

Around here, the kids don't start playing baseball and softball until early May, and they continue until August.

What do your kids do after baseball and school are over?

They do summer camp or summer school, depending. I wish baseball was in the summer, not the spring.

and I survived by the skin of my teeth, and by setting very short horizons. Does everyone have clean clothes to wear? Is there enough food in the house? Is there anything actually growing in the shower or under the beds? If the answers are yes, yes and no, then you're good to go ...

Yep, that's how I get by, too. It's usually more daunting looking at it in its entirety than One Day At A Time.

If you're managing whole days, you're okay! My horizons kept shrinking down to "let's just get one load of laundry done, and the next meal on the table."

There's whole chunks of that time that are just a blur to me now ... but I'm not sure I want to remember them in detail, so that's okay.
