I am a child of God. I will be thankful for the gifts I have been given, and not dwell solely on the things I am unhappy with in the world.
I am a child of God. I will engage in a discipline of prayer and fellowship geared towards deepening my understanding of God's will for me.
I am a child of God. I have been given a body and a brain and a God-given responsibility to care for them both.
I am a child of God, not God. I will not always understand why things happen in the world.
All people are children of God: I will act so, in recognition of the common bonds of humanity that link all people together.
I will be kind and compassionate towards others. I will also recognize that sometimes this means not saving others from their own mistakes: I will provide support, not rescue.
I will speak my truth honestly, but also with humility. I have truth to offer, but am only human and therefore I do not have exclusive claim on truth.
I will be honest in my dealings with other people. When in the wrong I will apologize and try to make amends.
I will be independent in thought: I will not follow others blindly, but neither will I reject things that I perceive to be good simply because others that I may not approve of embrace them.
I will be independent in emotion, taking responsibility for my emotions and allowing others to take responsibility for theirs.
I will accept my own worth in the world, recognizing my successes as well as my failures. I will not refrain from entering into friendship out of a sense of my own lack of worth. I will trust that people will value me.
I will strive to express myself creatively, using my God-given talents where I can.
I have been blessed. I seek to be a blessing to others.
