Kevin has been sad and out of sorts this morning. David just said "Mom, we need to go to the Target in Sunnyvale."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because they have Omega Supreme Externa, which is like Omega Supreme Energon with different colors."
"You want Kevin to have an Omega Supreme?"
"Yes."
"Even if it means you wouldn't get one?"
"Yes. I want him to be happy."

Wow.

BTW, one thing I didn't mention yesterday in regards to this toy... in addition to no toy stored having it, Amazon was out of stock.
the saga of the transformer.

[livejournal.com profile] brian1789 had to go to Target today to pick up a last few items, and David dragged him to the toy aisle. The two transformers left after I bought Kevin's yesterday were still there, marked down by a third from what I bought it for (which was already reduced from its regular price by a few dollars). (Had Brian told me, I might have been tempted to return mine -- "toy arbitrage", he calls it.)

This is unreal. This is *the* hot transformer this Christmas. (Yesterday, when I was calling places, one store clerk said, when I stated that I was looking for transformers, "We don't have Omega Supreme" without being prompted.) As I said, except for a couple of places in Gilroy and Sausalito, I had called every toy store in four area codes. Amazon was out of stock. An independent toy store in SF had it -- for twice the retail price.

But it makes me happy. Maybe some kid, whose parents could not have afforded the toy at full price, will get the hottest and latest toy out there.
