I have seen several references to that group of parents in Illinois supposedly objecting to kids giving Valentines in school to kids of the same gender.

It's clearly satire. The story below it is "Fewer Terrorists Celebrate Christmas." While I realize that we have reached a point in this country where it is difficult sometimes to differentiate between news stories and late-night talk-show monologue jokes, it's important not to latch on to every item that confirms our preexisting beliefs about X, Y, or Z group without doing a minimum of checking. (Googling shows no other references to the story than on one website.) The fact that right-wing nutjobs frequently toss their critical thinking skills out the window is no reason to do likewise.

On top of other stuff, I've had a migraine today. The pain was not the worst it's been, but the light sensitivity and vomiting were no fun at all. Maxalt did little. I got better enough to drag myself to take Kevin and David to Ragazzi (James had a band event to go to), where I helped the theory teacher record grades and interacted with a little boy who was running a fever and who probably is coming down with the flu. Kevin talked to the kid a lot. We will see.

Dinner was McDonald's. I think I am going to take some Tylenol 3 and see if I feel better in the morning. 'Night everyone.
