The hardest part of the quiz was avoiding the temptation to tweak my answers so it came up with "Alton Brown." Kevin, on the other hand, is clearly Emeril -- he even goes around saying "BAM!" and "Kick it up a notch!"

Speaking of my youngest and Alton Brown, I made the mistake of letting the kids watch the Good Eats sandwich making episode, in which Alton Brown insists that sliced bread is beneath consumption. This morning, Kevin demanded that I make his sandwich on sourdough or French. (We settled on a bagel.) Thanks a lot, Alton.

I talked to brian1789 late last night (midnight PDT). He's out of the hospital now, and feeling okay. (I meant to post that this morning, then forgot, thinking I had already done it... )

... Oh hell. I was going to write up what today was like but have decided that the better course of action is to go to sleep, and write it up tomorrow.
