Jeanette Rankin was a Republican. For some reason that makes me sad. Maybe because the party has fallen so far... even from Nancy Kassebaum, who was no liberal.
I'm glad all the propositions lost yesterday. Most of them were atrocious. As much as 79 and 80 might have been good ideas (although I still wasn't certain enough of their effects to vote for them; it's important to not vote for propositions you don't understand clearly), I really did not want any of them to pass.
Why? Because this special election cost a bucketful of money. I don't want to encourage this sort of behavior. I was pissed off about it.
