The Brattle's in danger?

The Brattle Theater was the place I first saw... everything. Hair. The Great Escape. 2001. Casablanca. The Birds. I didn't see Harold and Maude there, although I kept meaning to -- they showed it several times.

They show an eclectic mix of great not quite new movies and classic movies. And double features... nobody does double features, but the Brattle did -- and I see from looking at their current schedule, still does. (Vertigo and M? I am so there!)

I hope it doesn't go away. In an era of multiplexes, there needs to be places like the Brattle.

I will not discuss The Drama.

If you don't know what that means, count yourself very lucky.

If you feel compelled to discuss The Drama, please filter me. If that means dropping me from your friends' list, I will understand, but please drop me a line to let me know you have done so. If you discuss The Drama in public posts, I will drop you from my default views or my friends' list.

My mental health depends upon being able to walk away from this. I don't have the time or emotional energy for this -- and it affects me more than most (not all) of the rest of you.

Unfortunately, I have not the discipline to not read about this on my own -- I have a bad habit of watching train wrecks and looking at wounds. The only other option is to stop reading LJ altogether, which would remove a significant source of my connection with other people, which in itself would be bad for my mental health.

Comments disabled because, as I said, I'm not going to discuss this.

I need a good laugh, a Venti non-fat no-whip extra shot Peppermint Mocha and an apple fritter, and to get some work done.

And yet another intelligent Christian talks about how important it is not to shut people -- in this case, gay people -- out from the body of the Church. The context is a show made but not aired by ABC which gasp! showed people changing their attitudes about a homosexuality.

By the way, if you are interested in religious issues, this guy writes about them, a lot, along with politics and morality, and is always worth reading.
