I'm sick and running a fever, and am having trouble putting two coherent sentences together, so could someone write a cogent letter to the editor about either of the first two letters here? For the second one, tossing in that liberals have never called for violence against anyone might be a good talking point.

There was an intellectually challenged letter writer later on, writing about how Bonds's career records were not as significant as Ruth's since they play more games in a season now, but I deem him harmless, if lacking in critical thinking skills.

Current temp 103, down from 103.5 Am watching Princess Bride -- I almost like it. (I loved the book. Reason I don't like the movie is it loses an amazing amount of the wit when transferred to the screen, and the parts I loved most, the "real life" stuff almost completely goes away. And no amount of Mandy Patinkin orating "I am Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!" makes up for it.)

Feels like an ear infection.

I almost never do these sorts of memes, but I'm sick, again!, and this seems like a good piece of fluff... name ten fictional characters you'd do in a heartbeat:

Gregory House -- House, M.D.
Olivia Benson -- Law & Order:SVU
Ed Green -- Law & Order
Emil DeBeque -- South Pacific
Samuel Vimes -- Terry Pratchett's Discworld series
Lord Peter Wimsey -- Dorothy L. Sayers's Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries
Sara Sidle -- CSI
Silent Bob -- Kevin Smith's "View Askew" movies
Steve -- Coupling
Charlie Eppes -- Numb3rs

If most of them are television or movie characters, that's because I tend to prefer to read nonfiction, and because Mr. Darcy, Heathcliff, and Rochester just don't do anything for me.
