Registration reminder

If you live in Rhode Island, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina, Utah*, Washington*, and Nevada*, your registration deadline is Saturday, October 7.*

Check post office/postal pickup availability. Registrations must be postmarked by deadline.

If you live in Alaska or Arkansas, your deadline is Sunday, October 8. Post offices closed, you will need to mail registrations today or tomorrow (see above note.)

If you live in Arizona**, Hawaii, Louisiana or Wyoming***, your deadline is October 9, Columbus Day. Post offices closed, you will need to mail registrations today or tomorrow (see above note.) (In Wyoming, if you register by mail, you have to have your form signed by a notary or "registered agent." )

Other states with a looming deadline:

October 10: Colorado, D.C.**, Illinois*, Indiana, Kentucky, MIchigan, Montana***, New Mexico, Ohio. Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.

To get the National Voter Registration Application, which you can fill in online and print out, go to GoVote.com. These are good pretty much anywhere, except New Hampshire and Wyoming. (Also North Dakota -- ND has no registration at all.)
