It's worse than the 1992 Barney shortage, and maybe as bad as the 1980 Cabbage Patch Kid famine. I hereby give you...

Omega Supreme Energon. (It's a transformer. If you have no clue as to what a transformer is, count yourself among the fortunate.)

Both boys asked for two transformers: Megatron and Omega Supreme. We were planning to get one of each and split them between them. (No way they were each getting both -- those suckers are expensive.) We have a Megatron. I cannot locate an Omega Supreme for love or money.

Which serves me right for waiting -- they were in Toys R Us last month. I have found one store in SF that claims to have one... and says it costs twice what I know it lists for. Um, no thanks. I'm insane, but not *that* insane.

"Omega Supreme Energon" Sounds like something Wilhelm Reich came up with.

Look it's very simple guys. "Green Megaman" goes with "Red Megaman" and "Yellow Megaman" to make the "Ultra Mega Megaman." You have to have all 3 or it doesn't work, see? - Eric Cartman, South Park: "Damien"

As someone who hit every store three times over the past few days because my mother told me on Sunday that she'd like to get an X-box for Dad, I sympathize.

Perhaps you can print out a copy of this and use it as a gift certificate in one of their stockings. http://www.robot-japan.com/Images3/Toyfare2004/Omega-Supreme-Energon.JPG

Sounds like that Christmas movie with Arnold Swartzenegger where he promises his little son a Turbo Man for Christmas not realizing it was one of those really popular toys that were impossible to find. It was a cute movie.

Sounds like my experience with Legoboy's gift list. It was a longish list, but ALL the items on it were Xevoz figures. He told me they could be found at Toys R Us. We went early in the week - eventually found the Xevoz display, which contained........

The Incredibles.

Not a Xevoz in sight. Nada. Zilch.

Bought him a set of Marx Brothers movies instead. :-)

Obviously, the guys who write SP are familiar with Transformers.

Good luck on finding the X-Box.

I am beginning to think that TRU is in fact a major psychological experiment, and that behind the security windows are guys in white labs coats timing how long it takes before parents go nuts : >
