My good friend J. sends out a long Christmas letter each year -- or has every year for the past several. I always feel sort of annoyed about this (irrationally, I know) because I have given up on the whole sending out Christmas cards business (love to get them, but have trouble getting my act together enough to actually *send* them), and seeing her letter always makes me feel a bit guilty.

This year we had not gotten one. I was sort of relieved... except just now I got an email (sent to all J.'s friends) apologizing for ... not sending out the Christmas letter.
