It was a pretty good day.

I got up very early, to make the traditional coffeecake, and finish the stuffing and get the turkey into the oven. It was stressful dealing with the kids during the morning, although opening gifts was fun. And, as we were having guests for dinner, I was into full "ohmygodican'tletanyoneseemyhouseortheywon'tlikemeanymorebecauseIamsuchabadhousekeeper" panic.

In the afternoon,

hopeforyou,and

clairade came over for a wonderful dinner. We provided turkey and stuffing, they provided beef brisket and vegetables. It was great to spend time just hanging out -- and they didn't seem too taken aback by our menagerie. After the protracted dinner, we watched "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe" (which was originally put on to distract the kidlets, but the adults ended up watching, too) and

clairade beat

hopeforyou and

brian1789 at Boggle.

This morning,however, what had been an annoyingly hoarse voice yesterday turned into full blown sore-throat and cold symptoms. I'm woried that I've infected our guests -- especially

hopeforyou, as I worry about her immune system.

On the good side,

brian1789 has purchased a water heater, so we may have hot water by tonight! (I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this.)
