Note to self... hey. Listen up, self.

I do NOT need to get into high end knitting. I especially do not need to buy 3 ropes (? big loops -- not skeins) of that incredibly thick but insanely soft "Celtic" yarn from the ArtFibers store at $30/per so I can knit myself a throw. No, No, NO.

psst...eBay can be a great source for yarn, once you've found some particlar fibers to covet.

No, but if you wanted to knit using some spun wool, I can supply. Amanda won't make me a poncho. :<

It isn't soft, but its all wooly! And neato earth colors! And I'd give you backrubs if you make me a poncho!

Do not lead me into temptation. I can get there by myself : )

How about just a scarf? she said enablingly

[identity profile] patgreene.livejournal.com 2004-12-30 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
That's just it... I am currently working on a scarf (okay, so it's not from really wonderful yarn, but it is a scarf nonetheless), and if I start other things I will never get it finished.

"I do NOT need to get into high end knitting."

Sure ya do!

Come to the dark side...

we have cookies!

See, I do knit some. I just have never before been exposed to such.... yarn. Yarn that you want to buy just so you can run your fingers through it, in all sorts of colors never seen in nature.

Cookies, you say? Hmmm....

You see, that's how it starts.... ;) I don't knit at all, but I experience this with fabric ALL THE TIME!

I can't stop you, but I can provide you with many, many justifications for sinful yarn purchases ("At least I'm learning something", "It's better than just vegging in front of the tv", "I get a finished product from my own hands", etc.)

Cookies regularly seem to show up at the knitting group meeting Sunday afternoons at 569 Valencia. That's the bookstore. :>

Yeah... try working in a yarn store, like yours truly does for a pitiful amount of money, but an oh-so-nice employee discount... :D

I have yet to bring home a paycheck.
