   More amusing than Hogwarts, more accessible than Middle Earth. I plan to retire to the mountains to live among the History Monks.

   Interesting. I'd forgotten this was an interest -- although I do like it. Current fave is Eddie from Ohio.
5. history:
   Quite simply, history is everything. Period.
6. kevin smith:
   "Dogma" is the most profound meditation upon the nature of faith made in popular culture in the last twenty years. And I always found Silent Bob really cute.
7. new york mets:
   True story: in 1986, the day of The Game, I developed a debilitating migraine. I was lying in my completely darkened room with a cold cloth on my head, whimpering, when my husband came in and said "Wanna see your precious Mets *lose* the Series?" (gloat, gloat). My answer was not fit to print. A minute or so later, I heard a strangled gasp, and a minute after that, he came in the room, whispering "They won....." Hehehehe.
8. rock music:
   On some VH1 "I Love the blech" show, one of their talking heads was commenting upon the Rolling Stones song "It's Only Rock and Roll." "That's like saying 'It's only ox_y_gen'." I think that pretty much sums things up right there.

   Yes, although I'm not sure that I actually have anything to say about it.
10. terry pratchett:
    I love the way he manages to discuss interesting moral questions without getting preachy like some people *cough JKR*. Plus, the man writes the best damn footnotes ever.
