From the nine-year-old's teacher:

Hello,

Tonight's homework is to 1) read and fill out reading log 2) math page and
3) somehow get some exercise! These kids have been stuck inside too long
and are driving me crazy!
Also, there is NO recorder tomorrow.

Thank you,

I can understand where the teacher is coming from. I'm about ready to kick mine out in to the rain with orders to move till they can't anymore.

Oh, dear :):):). Maybe some Benedryl in the school milk supply?

(That's a long-standing joke - somewhat bitter on my part - between my parents and me. When I was a kid, my sisters and I were given a teaspoonful of Benedryl every night for "allergies". Strangely, when I got older, those "allergies" went away. I claim that my parents and Dr. Stephenson were in collusion, and that we were being drugged so we'd go to sleep at night.)

Hie thee to a 99 Cent store, buy a jumprope, and giftwrap it for the teacher. I'm sure she can find the space necessary to have the kids use the thing one at a time as they get unruly. And if she can't use it for that, perhaps she can tie them to their chairs with it! :^D

Seriously, that *is* funny. I can sympathize. I just sent Allegra outside to ride her bike because it isn't raining *right now*!

Heh. We had the advantage of having melatonin available instead. But seriously, it's possible that you really DID grow out of the allergies. It's fairly common. Either way, I'm sure that's your parents' story and they're sticking to it!
