How come the kids are at their most philosophical when I can't engage in lengthy discussions? Usually, it's on the freeway. Today, it's because I can hardly talk.
Kevin: Everybody has a religion.
Me (croaking): Not everybody believes in God.
Kevin: I know! but that's still a religion! It's still a belief about God!
Me: Everybody has a set of beliefs about the universe, I'll grant you that.
My voice gave out at that point, and David demanded we all shut up so he could watch Fantasia 2000. Sometime later, I have to explain the difference to Kevin between "belief in/about God" and "religion."
