[Note: because of other events in my life, I have not done these regularly in about two months. I am going to try to change that.]

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jane Fonda turned down lead roles in both Bonnie and Clyde and Rosemary's Baby to star (and I use the term loosely) in this 1968 cult classic directed by Roger Vadim. a) What was the movie? and b) What eighties musical group took their name from the movie's villain?

The movie was Barbarella. OK, so Fonda was married to Vadim at the time, but still.... The actress originally slated to play Barbarella tore up her contract with United Artists and returned to Italy. IMdB.

Oh, and the group was Duran Duran, named after the villain played by Milo O'Shea.

Hee! Without even looking: "Barbarella" (mmmm, cheese) and Duran Duran. (Have I mentioned my eighth-grade obsession with all things Duran Duran, or did I even really need to? ;) )

I knew this one too but have no idea why. Barbarella was easy enough but I can't stand Duran even once. wouldn't it be nice to get rid of some of these extraneous facts from the brain to make more room for things like, "what did I come in here for?"
