I was just on IMdB looking at "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". They seem to have done away with Professor Trelawney (Divination) but there is a character named Madam Rosmerta. (Or was Rosmerta the barmaid in the Three Broomsticks?) In any case, she is played by Julie Christie, who is generally a reliably good actress. And Gary Oldman is playing Sirius Black! That's almost as good a fit for me as Alan Rickman playing Snape. I am very interested to see how Alfonso Cuaron handles the material -- especially since the only thing of his I've seen is "Y Tu Mama Tambien", which is a far cry from Harry Potter.

No Professor Trelawney??? I guess they had to cut something, since it was so long, but jeez, she was such a great character. And she plays a pretty important role, too.

Very odd. I had heard that they were considering the actress who plays the ditzy Alice on "Vicar of Dibley". She would have been really good!

I didn't see a cast listing for the character, but it is always possible that IMdB got it wrong.

You just gave me a "Julie Christie" earworm.
