Answers to the questions I was asked....

[livejournal.com profile] brian1789: Let's see, it involves tying someone up with silk scarves, the black flogger, ostrich plumes, a small paintbrush and a pint of Emack and Bolio's hot fudge sauce...oh, wait, that wasn't really what you were asking, was it? *evil grin* Seriously: performing, especially acting in a really good movie (or writing a novel for publication). And no, I can't see this ever happening because of a) lack of confidence; b) lack of talent; and c) lack of knowledge as to how to even go about it. The third is remediable, the first and second probably not.

[livejournal.com profile] runeshower: Not necessarily in order, they would be: Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, by Christopher Moore; The Thief of Time, The Truth, and The Fifth Elephant, all by Terry Pratchett, and last, but not least, The Kiss of Shadows, by Laurell K. Hamilton. Oh, wait a minute, I also recently finished Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, and Best Crime Writing of 2001 , edited by Nicholas Pileggi. I started Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones, but have put it aside until I'm in a better space psychologically -- it's a bit intense. I would really like to read The Emperor of Ocean Park, I can't remember the author, American Gods by Neil Gaiman (once I get it back from my mom), and (I'm hoping I get this title right) A Breathtaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. And I would really really love to find time to re-re-re-reread Pride and Prejudice. However, as I recover, my reading time will be seriously curtailed : > I realize this is more information than you asked for, but I always love talking about books....

[livejournal.com profile] geekchick: A lot of things, actually. Music, too much music to list (although any list would have to include Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," Dave Brubeck's "Take Five," roughly half the songs the Beatles recorded, and "Rock and Roll Heart" by Eric Clapton); art and art museums (I've been fortunate in the last eight years to have been able to visit The National Gallery in D.C., Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, The Louvre and Musee d'Orsay in Paris, The Hermitage in St.Petersburg, and The Met, The Frick, and MOMA in New York -- and I would drop everything to revisit any one of them); my women: Vermeer's "Kitchen Maid" and "Girl with Earring" (unfortunately in different museums on different continents); traveling anywhere without children; the hot tubs at Watercourse Way in Palo Alto; Kevin Smith's Dogma; Monty Python; my kids (when they're not driving me crazy); [livejournal.com profile] brian1789; the ocean (any ocean) -- especially in the dead of winter when there is no one else there; and autumn leaves. And the knowledge that there are generous, gentle and kind people everywhere, if you just look for them.
