I'm turning away from video games and cartoons in an effort to dissuade the kids from TV. "Maybe there'll be figure skating on," I say. I turn the channel. "Golf. Even better."

At which point the younger two say "We loooove golf!" So now I have a ten and an eight year old sitting raptly watching, no lie, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. And yes, I am just going to turn it off in a minute and send them outdoors.

Curse you, Mario Golf. I just hope they don't turn into Republicans.
