I really liked it, as long as I didn't actually listen to the dialogue. Good Explosions.
Yesterday, I was at a planning meeting for my church's women's retreat. Discussion came up as to whether they would have the traditional "chick flick" on Saturday night. (Chick flick = "overly sentimentalized crap." E.g., "Steel Magnolias.") One woman said that, as far as she was concerned, chick flicks were action pictures. Someone said, "Well, you know, a movie with women in it." "How about "Elektra"?" "L., don't you know what a "chick flick" is?" "Sure, my husband makes me watch them sometimes."
I like her.
I like her.
Russell Crowe has covered "How Did We Get From Saying I Love You" by Great Big Sea on his latest (?) album. We are not amused.
Pat's theory of music: the more emotional the lyric, the more underplayed the singing needs to be. (There are exceptions: Janis Joplin, for instance.)
