Rent opens around Thanksgiving. "Seasons of Love" is now available on iTunes, although the rest of soundtrack won't be available until September 28th.

I've looked at the trailer. It's nice to know what Jesse L. Martin was doing while Ed Green was recuperating. The man can sing.

[Edit: Uh-oh. It was directed by Chris Columbus. I don't think this bodes well.]
I hadn't bought any iTunes music since May. In the past week, I've bought nine songs:

"Seasons of Love" from Rent
"All for the Best," "Save the People," "Prepare Ye," "On the Willows," and "We Beseech Thee," all from Godspell
"A Fine, Fine, Line," from Avenue Q

And, well also, "Zoot Suit Riot," by the Cherry Poppin' Daddies (thanks, Weird Al!), and the proper version of "Walkin' in Memphis," by Marc Cohn.

I am having to resist greatly the temptation to rush off and buy the soundtrack to Wicked!

It occurs to me that I have three different songs with Law & Order cast members: "Lullabye of Broadway" from 42nd Street (Jerry Orbach), "Seasons of Love" from Rent (Jesse L. Martin), and "Happiness" from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (B.D. Wong). Now all I need is Bebe Neuwirth's version of "All That Jazz."
