(no subject)

In the past few days I have gotten two of the items on my Christmas list -- from people outside my family!

On Tuesday, si_anenome bought me a lovely china teapot. She knew I wanted one, because she called me when I was in Bed, Bath and Beyond trying to point out to Kevin which china teapots I liked so he could tell his father.

On Wednesday, the education director of the Pacific Art League, in recognition of my hours of volunteer work, gave me an honorary membership (a $100 value). This gives me a discount of classes, which means I may take more than the one class I am hoping to take winter quarter with my accumulated volunteer hours (100 hours = 1 class)

I feel valued.

For anyone interested in art, the place I volunteer, Pacific Art League is part of the Palo Alto First Friday Art Walk. Several galleries open their doors and serve wine and cheese and people can go on a walking tour which covers all sixteen galleries. At Pacific Art League, we're holding the annual Print Bin Sale.

These are unframed limited editions prints. There's a lot of interesting stuff* -- joedecker has several prints for sale, including one of my favorites, "Trillium Falls II."


*"Stuff" is, of course, a technical term. : )
