Random thoughts:

You know, it is generally a good idea to take the extra rack out before you preheat the oven.

I've been wandering around all morning looking for the new Alton Brown book I bought this weekend....no luck. Just noticed that J's math textbook -- which is roughly the same shape, also has a green cover, and which he is supposed to take to school every day -- is sitting on his desk. That boy. I'll kill him if my book gets trashed.... except how can I, when he clearly inherited his organizational abilities (or lack thereof) from me?

Forget seedless watermelons. When will someone develop a seedless pumpkin?

I am cooking pumpkin today because K (my six-year-old) decided to see how far he could throw one yesterday. When he does things like this, I just want to trade him for Darren Baker and a child to be named later.

Today the pumpkin gets cooked, tomorrow the pumpkin-date bread. Anybody want some?

Hungry over here.

Yes. I'd love some pumpkin-date bread. Mmmmm. Yummmmy. Now that I think of it, I'd like lunch, too.

There is one Alton Brown book here, but I believe it's [livejournal.com profile] sinboy's. If I see another, I'll let you know.

Meanwhile, I'll be picking up my POS car, returning my car rental, and working at home. In some order.

I'll keep you in mind when I'm done with the pumpkin bread tomorrow.

The last I saw my copy, I was reading it on my living room sofa. I am pretty positive that J took it to school today. I'd be interested in seeing his teacher's reaction. "Math lab, anyone?"

Yes, please. I'll trade you some of the pumpkin chocolate/cinnamon chip cookies I made this weekend. =)

Pity you're all the way over on the other side of the country then.... that would be a good swap.

I'll bring some to Boston; I bet they'd work well with the ice cream expedition. ;)

Will there be any left by Thursday? (grin)

Wished that I had some, now that I'm on Long Island... I missed lunch :-(.
