Brownie poll..

Every year we have pie for dessert at Christmas. We always have pumpkin, and if I stamp my foot enough we also get pecan or apple. But really, I am not a pie person. Pecan and lemon merengue are the only ones I like a lot. And I don't make them because I can't get the hang of pie pastry crusts. (Hmm... I wonder if I made a lemon merengue pie with a graham cracker crust?)

At any rate, I decided we are going to have something in addition to pie for Christmas dessert. I thought about an ice cream cake, but decided against it. So now I am thinking mint chocolate chunk brownies, covered with chocolate truffle ganache.

So....

Lemon meringue pie with a graham cracker crust also sounds like a lovely idea.

If I thought I had good pie-crust making skills, I'd offer to contribute one. Alas, I do not.

Personally, not so fond of frosted brownies (too much chocolate for me), but since I'm not coming to dinner I vote for mint chocolate. ;)

I personally think that you should come to dinner. Not that you asked for my opinion, but when has that stopped me from having one?

Heh, would be happy to if it weren't a 2900 mile and 45 hour commute.

45 hour? More like ten, on most days...

Driving, not flying. And flying is only 5 and a half if you take a non-stop, which I tend to do.

(contemplates licking mint chocolate ganache frosting... ;)

What she said. And don't *ever* tell my mother I said this, but they're pretty decent. I do very good pie crust most of the time, but there are times when I just want to fling the stuff to the far side of the room and stomp on it with my stompy boots...

Sorry, having a moment there.

Yes, frozen pie crust. Yay! Good stuff. Works. Yummy lemon meringue pie is my favorite!!

Graham cracker crust with either type of pie sounds fine, but if you really like pie-pastry crust (just not making it), then just go out and buy the premade kind (though I haven't had good luck using these when I also need a top crust, they've been quite nice as bottom-crust-ony.)

Something with all four food groups in it...you know, Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate and chocolate with stuff in it!
