I just got back from going to Valley Fair Mall. At lunchtime. The week before Christmas. With two children.
The children were, for them, well behaved: no running off, no playing with merchandise (except at the sporting goods store where they kept trying to see who could pick up the heaviest dumbbell), no physical violence. Some bickering and whining, but not too bad. So I stopped at See's Candy on the way out and they each got to pick a couple of pieces (and they got a free sample, too!).
Now, I have to make lunch, clean my messy kitchen, and get started on holiday cooking. Today: cornbread. Maybe pumpkin bread if I have enough time, but that looks doubtful.
Tonight: Christmas pageant, followed by dinner at the church and caroling.
