I am passing along this link to [livejournal.com profile] wordweaverlynn's journal post about possible action to challenge the Electoral College result by Barbara Boxer and John Conyers because I know of many people on my friends-list who will be interested.

I am not sure if I will be taking any action myself: I see this as a potentially very dangerous Pandora's box, and need to figure out whether or not I feel comfortable supporting opening it.

Even if there is no challenge to the vote, the need to make this a real issue remains.

In that vein I have already e-mailed her office, which I think to be the best form of expression in such things, as it lets one give real views, not a simple up/down.

I agreed with [livejournal.com profile] wild_irises's opinion that challenging the results wouldn't change the outcome of this election but would be a good starting point for necessary election reform.

what is your position on all this? I must admit to having trouble getting the time and focus to follow all of this, but I do realize that things seem to be coming to a real head, and that there are larger and larger groups of people who are feeling huge animosity and anger towards others about election outcomes.

You know, when I was younger, I recall one side being upset about losing an election, but I never recall feeling that someone achieved an office unfairly or by underhanded influence. So, either we're becoming alot more cynical/ less naive, or there really are some loopholes that need to be challenged and addressed.

I really don't have enough information to know how much of which. I'd appreciate knowing your position, as you have a clear head and a lot of education on legal concepts/issues.
