I am an intelligent woman. I graduated cum laude from Wellesley. I have a J.D., with distinction, from Stanford Law School. I have been accepted by the California and D.C. bars (okay so I am inactive in CA and off the rolls in D.C., but still...) Hell, I've even been on Jeopardy.

I do NOT need to spend all day arguing with some twit on LJ to prove how smart I am. Really.

Walk away walk away walk away walk away.................

The thing is, I don't want to become a practicing attorney again. It's just that I find myself in these arguments online, and when I examine my motives for staying in the flamewar past the point when it has ceased to be productive for either me or anyone else, it boils down to: I'm feeling badly about myself and feel the need to remind myself I still have a brain.

I need a better hobby.

Understood, and flame wars are so easy to fall in to. Try to keep true to yourself and remind yourself often of how intelligent you are.

No, You haven't been enabling : )

I said it in another comment recently: "Lead me not into temptation, I can get there by myself."

Yeah, I often have the same problem.

Sometimes debating can be a fun outlet for getting things out of your system. Right now, I'm really just wishing this whole mess were *over* particularly since I've got a ringside seat to watch all the comments while sitting on my hands.
This morning, I was considering once the legal matters were settled, writing an explanation of my actions with "here's how I perceived the timeline" but now I'm pessimistically thinking that such a defense will only prolong hard feelings, since sides seem to have crystallized so strongly.

*sigh*
Winning the legal case at the cost of my reputation -- remind me again, which is the battle and which is the war?
