Yesterday, James was mucking around with the stereo equipment. After some panic (hint, Grasshopper: it really *does* matter which outlets you put the plugs into), we sort of got things sorted out. With two unfortunate side effects: 1) something funky is going on with the Gamecube: its sound output overrides the tv's so that it is impossible to control the videogame sound via the tv controls. (This is a very big problem.) 2) it seems as thought part of the stereo wires got disconnected. With some songs it's not all that noticeable but with others it is. I am now listening to an almost a cappella version of Del Amitri's "Roll to Me." It's cool. (At least the verses are like that, with very minimal instruments in the background.)

#2 might just be the sourround sound settings. like it's expecting 5.1 and only getting stereo. I've had soemthing similiar happen with my system. So all you're hearing is the 'center' channel.. or the equiv.
