Today was the funeral for
brian1789's grandmother. Nanny was a wonderful lady, full of humor and feistiness... I liked her a good deal more than I did my own grandmother. I don't think anyone who knew her didn't like her -- I don't see how they could. She was one of those ladies that make you think, "That's what I want to be like when I get old."
She had gotten frail and forgetful the past few years -- she was ninety-six. But she was still warm and kind. The kids were able to meet her this summer when we visited Kansas.
So, goodbye, Nanny. All your kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and the few great-great-grandkids will miss you. I sure will.
Please keep
brian1789 and his mom,
twoglass, in your prayers. This is very hard on them.
