I just saw A History of Violence. Very violent, but didn't seem too violent -- none of the violence seemed gratuitous or fetishistic. It was nasty violence, too, not artsy and prettied up. Gives me a lot to think about on the nature of identity and how we create who we are. Really good movie.

I had been going to see Good Night and Good Luck, about Edward R. Murrow ([livejournal.com profile] kwalton, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on that movie if you've seen it) but was distracted by The Sixth Sense on television. I watched until just after Cole says "I see dead people." I think that movie only gets richer and more and more interesting after you know the ending. And Haley Joel Osment's performance was breathtaking.

I'm not [livejournal.com profile] kwalton, but I have seen "Good Night and Good Luck". I HIGHLY recommend it - the plot relies on conversation and body language so it's good to see it on the big screen if you can.
