The fundamentalists have lied to you. We are not a Christian nation. We do not believe in redemption, or mercy, or grace.

We believe in exacting blood vengeance.

Stanley Williams will die on December 13. Unless Schwarzenegger commutes his sentence, which I rank as being almost as likely as snow in San Francisco on that date.

Unfortunately, I think we are more correctly a "Judeo-Christian Nation," in the sense of still relying entirely too heavily on practices in the old testament books and other things that Christ himself said were outdated. A shame we haven't (as a society) managed to hear that message in the last 2000 years.

I'll pray for snow on 12/13.

We're not all good a Judeo-Christian nation, either. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/patgreene/529492.html#cutid1) (And I think fundamentalists bristle at the "Judeo-" part anyway.) Williams has always claimed he was innocent, and prosecutors relied on jailhouse snitches to get a conviction, something which would be prohibited in the Old Testament.

You're obviously far more informed on this issue than I am. It certainly sounds like this is unfair and unjust by any reasonable standard.
