WHOA NELLY... no need to get into any pissing contests.... i'm not trying to one up anyone, cast aspersions, or tell anyone how i is... I'm just giving feedback... first some criticism on how her passage was structured, and the impression it might give. second some further perspective on the sort of people she was encountering... and last some reflection on what i take away from what she wrote. i'm not sure how that came across as condescending!?!... i tried to be careful and specific with my language... so no one would take my feedback as flames (since emotions and egos are definitely wrapt up in this sort of thread)... maybe i was too careful? that being careful came across as patronizing? but again at no point was i disparaging or upitty in anyway...
also for the record i wasn't characterizing her post as "divisive and sniping"...(since i don't think that's what she was trying to do or be... if i thought she was, the tone of my response would be more hostile... or more likely i'd just not bother giving feedback) ... no i wasn't saying it WAS "divisive and sniping" i was saying it COULD BE TAKEN as such... since(speaking in regard to her post) her frustration is on her sleeve (understandably) and in her opening and closing she doesn't say anything to the effect of "a few bad apples..."

her only attempt at separation of specific problem folk is only buried deep in the middle. i think that could easily be taken in the manner i suggest...taken as "divisive and sniping" which i think is supported by at least 3 other comment on this post. so no, its not just me.
and again i'm not at all suggesting she should withhold her criticism, i think its valuable ...which i think i indicated, by relating what i did, and hoped others would take away from her post. being more specific... or to the point, more clearly specific about whom you are addressing is not being less critical... its being more effectively critical.
and lastly yeah, again with the pissing contest? trying to belittle me? wtf is that about? apparently one thing i have learned here, is manners, at no point in my previous post, or this response did i or would i try to belittle her, or even you - tho i wont pretend not to be affronted by that sort of behavior here in writing.
FWIW she has asked for people avoid sniping in her lj so i wont respond to you further there - tho i will post an abbreviated version of this there, to re-enforce my points, and to be clear it was not my intention to be condescending in anyway - if you have more to say reply here.
