I got the Original Broadway Cast Recording Soundtrack of Rent for Christmas. I have since then played the two disc set approximately 452 times, and that's a conservative estimate. ( I can't really play a lot of it where the redhead can hear, because I don't want him to go to school singing "Sodomy, it's between God and me..." or have to explain what dildos are. As it is, he has been going around this afternoon singing "What You Own" and the last Finale. And we have had age-appropriate chats about AIDS, and drug-addiction, so that's been parentally useful, I guess.)

However, the more I hear it, the more I want to slap Roger upside the head and yell "Snap out of it!" in my best Cher voice.

I was talking to the drummer boy about it, and he said that people like that gave rock star wannabes a bad name. According to my proto-rocker, it was one thing to be annoying on purpose, it was something else to simply be whiny.

I guess that if he's annoying, he's doing it on purpose?

Taking my 18 year old brother to see the movie apparently got the idea that safer sex is important into his head in a more real way then any of us had managed before.

But, yeah, bad enough that I want to break out in La Vie Boheme mid-meeting - I imagine you have no interest in explaining that to the principal.
