Life is what happens ....

... when you're making other plans.

I had today all planned out: I was going to meet [livejournal.com profile] si_anemome for coffee and then we were going to go to the library and work. I was looking forward to it, and even set out my clothes the night before, so I could hop right into the shower in the morning.

So of course my middle child woke up this morning with a strange rash which necessitated keeping him home from school and taking him to the doctor.

Fortunately, it is nothing serious, and I will still get to meet [livejournal.com profile] si_anemome for coffee.

But I'm grumpy about my plans getting disrupted.

I did offer to take him to the doctor... (hug).

Yes, you did, and I appreciate that, but the doctor said to bring him in right away and you were in a meeting. Sigh. I took him back to school at 1:00; at 2:20 he called me from the office (he wasn't supposed to) saying he felt ill and he needed to come home. When I went to pick him up, Susan Abbott was livid, because a) he's not supposed to use the phone in the office and b) he pretty much admitted he wasn't feeling *that* bad. So he now has homework to do over the weekend, has lost some computer time on Monday and, on our end no TV today (for lying and making me have to leave my coffee with Carol early). He had a complete tantrum meltdown. It was extremely unpleasant. I sent him to his room for nap -- he is refusing to nap, has barricaded himself in his room (I'm about to go make him open the door) and keeps announcing "I hate my life".

Think he's ready for his own LJ account?

I'm glad it's nothing serious, and that you still get part of your day, at least.

*hugs*

Thanks. As it turned out, I didn't really get even that. Sigh.

Yeah, life is like that. Kick it in the head.

(Says me, who's spent an already-overbooked week in intense amounts of pain from a whatever-this-is flare up in my arms..)

Glad it's nothing serious. Hope the plans happening will help with the grump. (Donno about you, but I get tired of being grumpy.. which, of course, leads to more grumpy. feh.)

I hope the pain goes away -- ouch! I know how hectic things are for you, having pain on top of that must be awful.

Here's something to cheer you up. Two members of the Pat Greene Fan Club met at the bar across the street from me the other night. We were saying nice things about you behind your back!

Oh, well, thank you! Do I know them? Personally, I mean.

You have certainly hugged both of us.

Where do I send my dues? Do I get a t-shirt?
