... when you're making other plans.

I had today all planned out: I was going to meet [livejournal.com profile] si_anemome for coffee and then we were going to go to the library and work. I was looking forward to it, and even set out my clothes the night before, so I could hop right into the shower in the morning.

So of course my middle child woke up this morning with a strange rash which necessitated keeping him home from school and taking him to the doctor.

Fortunately, it is nothing serious, and I will still get to meet [livejournal.com profile] si_anemome for coffee.

But I'm grumpy about my plans getting disrupted.

Yes, you did, and I appreciate that, but the doctor said to bring him in right away and you were in a meeting. Sigh. I took him back to school at 1:00; at 2:20 he called me from the office (he wasn't supposed to) saying he felt ill and he needed to come home. When I went to pick him up, Susan Abbott was livid, because a) he's not supposed to use the phone in the office and b) he pretty much admitted he wasn't feeling *that* bad. So he now has homework to do over the weekend, has lost some computer time on Monday and, on our end no TV today (for lying and making me have to leave my coffee with Carol early). He had a complete tantrum meltdown. It was extremely unpleasant. I sent him to his room for nap -- he is refusing to nap, has barricaded himself in his room (I'm about to go make him open the door) and keeps announcing "I hate my life".
