Novelist Anne Perry writes mysteries set in Victorian England. Interestingly enough, an incident in her real life was the subject of a movie directed by Peter Jackson. What was the movie?

The movie was "Heavenly Creatures." It tells the true story of two New Zealand teenage girls who murder one of their mothers. One of the teenagers, Juliet Hulme, now lives in Scotland and writes mysteries under the name of Anne Perry. Source: IMdB.com,

I've gotten hooked on Perry's Thomas Pitt series ("Callander Square,""Half Moon Street", "Pentecost Alley", etc.) and was fascinated to find this factoid out.

I'm surprised I knew this one - only because I watched "Heavenly Creatures" a few weeks ago and did a bit of research.

Additional trivia: the other teenager, Pauline Parker, emigrated to England and changed her name to Hilary Nathan - she now runs a children's riding school - info here (http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Studio/2194/faq2/library/7.9.5.html). She and Anne Perry are aware of each other but have declined to meet again.
