My mother in law sent this to me today:

Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things.

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987 . They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

The CD was introduced the year they were born.

They have always had an answering machine

They have always had cable.

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.!

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter

Do you feel old yet? (Sorry) Pass this on to the other old fogies on your list. Notice the larger type, that's for those of you who have trouble reading.

Save the earth. It's the only planet with chocolate.

I can add a few:

If you didn't want commercials, you could only see a movie at the theatre.

MTV played only music.

MacIntosh has always meant something other than just an apple.

My daughter is a first-year university student who was born in 1987.

She used my portable typewriter for a while when she was in elementary school, but she gave it back sometime before she got her own laptop computer.

I think she knows how to make popcorn on the stove, but I'll ask her.

When she was six, she performed in a school musical about environmental issues in which she and her classmates sang the line "We'll be the last dudes to eat fast food from polystyrene." This didn't seem odd to me at the time, but maybe in fact that age had already passed.
Her family didn't always have an answering machine. They did have cable when she was young, before moving to satellite TV.

CDs were actually introduced in Canada the weekend after Easter in 1983. I know that because I went away for the weekend with an audiophile, who dragged me to a mall to hear a CD player.
