I was so busy dealing with kid's Valentine stuff, I completely forgot to get Valentines for the adults in my life. Par for the course these days. Sorry about the oversight.

I know just what you mean. I'd better get on to exercise, before I have to pick Allegra up from school. I have NO idea why they did this, but today is an EARLY dismissal day (which meant getting her to school at 8:10 am, instead of 11:30). What a lovely valentine's present for all the moms, eh? Wonder what would happen if all the moms in this country got together and declared that kids are too young for valentines anyway? Hmmm. "Take back V-day!"

I don't know about your district, but we have all next week off. I'm a little surprised it's not an early out day for us, as well. Hmmm.. . I'd better call the school and check on that.

Maybe it's because the teachers don't want to have to deal with small children bouncing off the wall after all the excitement and sugar. That's right.. . stuff them full of candy and send them home to their parents. It's as bad as Halloween.

Thank goodness, no, we don't have all next week off. Perhaps you guys are victims of the dreaded "ski-week"? I know that the Piedmont district is like that. I always chalked that up to it being a district full of parents with more money than sense, though. And I KNOW you guys aren't lacking in sense!

Yep, ski-week. People here (unlike Palo Alto) generally don't have a lot more money than sense, but we still have it. I think it's peer pressure: Palo Alto and Los Altos both do it.
