Look, Wikidiot, just because Ruth would have had eight more games if he had played in 1962 does not automatically mean he would have beaten Maris. He would *also* have had to play in larger ball parks, with higher fences, with ground rule doubles in effect, and had much much rougher travel schedules.

You change one variable, you gotta change 'em all, or it doesn't count. By the way, if you look at Maris's 1961 season, he did hit 61 homers in 154 games -- the *last* 154 games.
