I just finished two WWF posts. The first is about the icon controversy, which I would have ignored except that it cropped up in Making Light. The second is a very personal one --- that I think is nonetheless important -- about "Why I am not a lactivist." It came out of the fact that the icon controversy, and some of the nastiness about the debate, was triggering a lot of emotions in me regarding the first few weeks of my eldest son's life. I've been sitting here writing it and crying, but I think I needed to do so. I put it over there rather than here because there are several good friends who do not read my LJ but who do read WWF.

You're welcome. I think more women who've had to use formula for various reasons need to start talking about it, to counteract the nursing radicals. And yes, stress is a really big problem when you're trying to nurse -- which makes you even more stressed, etc.

It always amazes me that women who should know firsthand how hard it is to be a new mother can be so vicious and uncaring.
