I have a new entry up at WWF about postpartum psychosis. Not anything new, really, and a lot of it's just common sense, but I figure it can't hurt to have someone who sort of has an idea of what works talk about it.

Never hurts to have good information out there. I think the point about hallucinating the baby crying is very important, for instance. I know how hard it was for me to endure the first months of my daughter's life, mostly because breastfeeding was a nightmare for me. And she was otherwise a pretty easy baby (my, how THAT changed, she says, drily). I can't imagine... well, I CAN, and I'd rather not... what hell it could be with a baby who was colicky, or just imagining them crying ALL THE TIME, when you're already hormonally imbalanced and sleep deprived. It's a wonder, actually, that more new mothers don't go postal.

Congratulations to you and [livejournal.com profile] brian1789 for getting you through that.
