I hope you don't mind, but I read a post you wrote a while back about rape in Ginmar's little LJ community, and I wanted to tell you that I applaud you.

The issue of rape *is* about people, and while many more women get raped then men, it *does* happen to a staggering number of men, it hurts them just as much, and (sadly) it's not as acceptable for them to talk about it. The way she immediately jumped on you and started to insult you was (from what I can tell) typical of her. You had something to say, and before she even talked to you, she attacked you, only revealing her own stupidity and lack of logic. That is why, mercifully, no one who matters will ever give her the time of day. Ranting and raving and swearing like a sailor is not only terribly disrespectful, but idiotic.

Thanks. I think it's important to confront that sort of thinking. Unfortunately, too many women buy into her warped line of argument.

You mean the whole "all men are evil pigs" argument? Yeah, too many people do. Not only is it hypocritical for her and so many other "feminists" to be sexist with the lame argument that men already have everything, so insulting them is perfectly all right, but that kind of thinking only hurts their cause. Men and women are different, to be sure, but they are still just two parts of the same race.

Anyway, I'm glad you confronted her. She'll just brush it off like she brushes off everything that makes any real sense, but it's important to stand up.
