I enjoy dates with goat cheese a lot as well... that sweet-succulent-salty combo, mmm!

Have you been to the Samovar tea room in the Castro? They have a lovely Mediterranean plate-o'-delicacies, of which dates stuffed with goat cheese is one. Roasted pearl onions is another, if memory serves...

Iberia in Menlo Park does dates stuffed with chorizo and wrapped in bacon, then broiled. It's a little bite of heaven in your mouth!!
