I get really cranky with people who argue that we should not be at all surprised about yesterday's vote because, after all, America has always done horrible things.

o_O I admire [livejournal.com profile] jmhm's restraint.

If you have Firefox and Greasemonkey available, allow me to recommend this killfile script, it's good for the blood pressure; as a bonus, it works on Haloscan comments too.

The person you were speaking to is not someone I'd call capable of civilized behavior, or respect for those who've earned it. Also, the times she's pullled that sort of shjit on me, and I've tried to have a civilized conversation, and asked *respectful* questions, there's been no response. Blank wall.

I feel sorry for anyone with that much capacity for being deliberatley cruel. That much hatred will burn a hole in her gut, and has clearly burned out her compassion for others. I give her the prayer for the Tsar. May god bless, keep and heal her FAR AWAY FROM ME.

Also, when it comes to trying to save democracy, you've been one of me heroes. The people who listen to you know the good works you do. Keep your chin up.

Thanks so much for the reinforcement. I was feeling pretty low about it until I reminded myself that I *had* done stuff in the past few years to try and save democracy (which may be one of the reasons this law sucks so much -- there is this terrible feeling of impotency).

The prayer for the Tsar -- from Fiddler on the Roof? : )

It does seem appropriate here. : )
