I'm a single parent again. Meh. Off to practice now.

I don't know you well... but I'm sure you'll pull thought wonderfully.

You've done that often enough that I don't feel qualified to offer advice.

But the things that it seemed to help P to hear when she was coping by herself were things like
  • Lower your expectations.
  • Eat takeout.
  • Choose your battles.
  • Keep complaining to us so we know how much to appreciate you.
  • Tell the kids I will take them to a movie when I get home (and keep them out for a long time, so you can have the afternoon to yourself.

Hang in, and keep us posted.

Being a wholly selfish and irresponsible person, I have no good advice for you.

But y'know, it's not as bad as being a single wolverine rancher. With no toes. And quicksand in your living room. And a "wacky" next door neighbor who busts in at all hours of the day and night. And a constant laugh track. And a hat that doesn't fit right. And Gum in your hair. And a flooded basement. With pirhanas in it. Wearing a corduroy tutu.

I could go on and it's tempting but you're either annoyed or amused enough for now.

Thanks, I probably will. This falls into the category of things I tell my kids is labelled "Things I Don't Want to Do But Have To Do Anyway". So sometimes, just like them, I whine. (Well, they had to get it from someone! : >)

Thanks. We're not eating takeout, but the next best thing: Banana Chocolate Chip Waffles made with Bisquick.

*hug* Let me know if there's anything I can do.

Then whine here, where others can hear and listen and maybe even give a bit of advice that might even work once in awhile. Or tell you your not alone, and our own horror stories. Sighs, I know I do my share in my LJ... And my life doesn't have anything major going on right now.

Oooh. That sounds really good. Especially from a kid point of view!

Can I have Pecans in mine too?

you're the best!

I'm glad I've already eaten or I'd be off to the store like a klansman to a cross burning.
