Don't laugh -- I gave it up for Lent. Seriously. I know one is not supposed to talk about what one's Lenten discipline is, for fear of being boastful or hypocritical, but in this case I felt I was going out of my skull with restlessness and loneliness, and figured I could use some advice.
It actually has been an eye-opening experience for me; I've learned how much I use television to shut out other people and escape from the world in general. I never thought I would find it this hard.
Oh, I'm not laughing. I'm sorry I was disrespectful. I guess I would suggest crochet or a book or something, but I'm sure those aren't the same. Do you play a musical instrument? Or wait, you could just have conversations with me in LJ all night. :-)
I figure that's why we have washer and dryer hookups in our new place -- so I can toss clothes in the washer and not have to even switch the laundry until the next day if I don't want. Down with middle-of-the-night housework, say I!

I have been reading, which helps. And I've made oodles of LJ entries today (probably annoying my friends in the process : >)
What I really should do is clean the house. But that is so not going to happen tonight.
